This year's Miss Alabama winner, 20-year-old Chandler Champion, is bringing a whole lot of the Yellowhammer State with her to the Miss America Competition in Atlantic City, NJ.

Champion will, appropriately enough, be wearing a reminder of Alabama's recent football dominance at the event: A predominantly houndstooth patterned dress in honor of Bear Bryant with "Roll Tide" displayed on the front and a 2012 national champions insignia on the back.

According to AL.com , the custom-made dress was made for Miss America's "Show Us Your Shoes" parade -- a pre-pageant event that takes place on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

Miss Alabama director Nan Teninbaum thought the off-beat dress was the perfect choice for the pageant, telling AL.com, "With Chandler being a University of Alabama student and the university being the national champs for three years, we chose to do national champs."

"I really like to be trendy, but I do like to march to the beat of my own drum," Champion said. "I don't go with exactly what the magazines are telling you or what different stores would promote every month, I go with what I like and I rock it." [ PHOTOS: College football's hottest WAGS of 2013 ]

The dress also comes with matching University of Alabama-themed shoes:

While she won't wear it at the actual pageant, we'll keep our fingers crossed that the judges ask her one or two questions about Crimson Tide football.
