Milwaukee brews up more magic, beats LA in ninth

Pinch-hitter Mark Kotsay singled with the 1, in the second test of a four-game series.

Hong-Chih Kuo (0-2) started on the mound for the Dodgers in the ninth. Prince Fielder walked before Mike MacDougal came in from the bullpen. Casey McGehee singled and Yuniesky Betancourt walked to load the bases with no outs, then Kotsay followed with the game-winning hit up the middle.

Corey Hart drove in the other run for the Brewers, who have won five in a row to build a seven-game lead over the Cardinals -- who lost in Pittsburgh -- in the NL Central.

Milwaukee starter Yovani Gallardo gave up one run on four hits over eight innings. He struck out nine and walked one. Takashi Saito (4-1) pitched a perfect ninth to pick up the win.

Aaron Miles drove in the lone run for the Dodgers, who have lost two in a row since a three-game winning streak.

LA starter Chad Billingsley allowed one run on four hits over seven innings. He struck out five and walked two.
