AC Milan and Inter Milan exchanged Italian strikers on Wednesday with Inter acquiring Antonio Cassano from Milan while the Rossoneri received Giampaolo Pazzini.

The 30-year-old Cassano scored three goals in 16 Serie A matches for Milan last season as he saw limited time because of a heart condition, while Pazzini appeared in 33 games for Inter and tallied five goals.

It is believed that Milan paid Inter an additional $8 million to complete the deal, which came about when Cassano voiced his displeasure at Milan selling both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva.

Pazzini, 28, and Cassano are both training with their new teams ahead of the start of the Serie A campaign with Inter opening the season at Pescara while Milan entertains Sampdoria.
