AC Milan signed midfielders Riccardo Montolivo and Bakaye Traore on free transfers Thursday, as the Serie A runner-up started its offseason makeover.

Gennaro Gattuso, Filippo Inzaghi, and Alessandro Nesta will all leave AC Milan this summer, and the signings of Montolivo and Traore immediately fills needs.

Montolivo will join from Serie A rival Fiorentina, while Traore comes to Italy from French side Nancy.

The 27-year-old Montolivo has signed a four-year contract. He spent the last seven seasons with Fiorentina, and is on Italy's initial squad for Euro 2012.

Traore, also 27, signed a three-year contract. The Malian international spent the last three seasons with Nancy.
