Teddy Bridgewater did not play well for most of the Minnesota Vikings' thrilling 23-20 victory over the Chicago Bears in Week 8. It wasn't until the end of the game that the second-year quarterback really came alive.
After failing to connect with his pass-catchers for most of the day, Bridgewater led the Vikings on two scoring drives in the final minutes of the fourth quarter to steal a win and move to 5-2 on the season.
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer gave Bridgewater his vote of confidence in late game situations after pulling out the close one in Chicago, according to Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press.
Bridgewater finished the game with fewer than 200 yards passing. He completed less than 60 percent of his attempts, and one of his misfires was an awful interception to Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller.
Yet the young quarterback is finding a way to play above his stats by coming up big when the Vikings need him most.
