Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Mets third baseman David Wright is progressing from a shoulder injury that cost him most of the last month of the 2014 season.
Wright was shut down in early September with left shoulder inflammation. He was later diagnosed with a rotator cuff contusion and the Mets said Friday an exam this week has shown "marked improvement."
The 31-year-old veteran batted just .269 -- the second-lowest figure of his career -- with a personal-low eight home runs and 63 RBI in 134 games last season.
