New York, NY – New York Mets All-Star knuckleballer R.A. Dickey was voted the National League Pitcher of the Month for June.
Dickey posted a 5-0 mark with a major league-best 0.93 earned run average in six June outings. He tossed three complete games, including two shutouts, and recorded 55 strikeouts against only eight walks.
The right-hander tossed consecutive one-hitters on June 13 at Tampa Bay and June 18 versus Baltimore. He also went 44 2/3 innings without allowing an earned run, a stretch that began in May.
Others pitchers receiving votes included Cincinnati's Johnny Cueto, San Francisco's Matt Cain and Madison Bumgarner, Washington's Tyler Clippard and Milwaukee's Zack Greinke.
