CHICAGO (AP) Mets center fielder Yoenis Cespedes has left Game 4 of the NL Championship Series due to soreness in his left shoulder.

Cespedes walked and scored on Lucas Duda's three-run homer in the first inning on Wednesday night. He struck out looking in the second and was replaced by Juan Lagares before the bottom half of the inning.

New York was trying for a sweep of the series.

Cespedes was acquired in a July 31 trade with Detroit and helped power the Mets to the NL East title. He was batting .273 with two homers and seven RBIs in the playoffs coming into the night.
