New York Mets third baseman David Wright had a single and a walk in three plate appearances for Class A St. Lucie on Monday night in his first game action in nearly four months.

Wright played five innings as scheduled while serving as designated hitter and batting third in the lineup. He flew out to center field in the first, singled to left-center in the third and drew a walk in the fifth, eventually scoring on a groundout after going from first to third on single.

An injured hamstring sidelined Wright after his eighth game of the season on April 14. He suffered a major setback in May when he was diagnosed with spinal stenosis - a narrowing of the spinal column.

The Mets captain underwent five straight days of workouts last week before he was cleared to play in a rehab game. Wright is expected to play five innings in the field on Tuesday.
