Venlo, Netherlands – Dries Mertens and Jurgen Locadia scored three goals apiece at De Koel on Sunday to help PSV cruise to a 6-0 win over 10-man Venlo.
Mertens opened the scoring with goals in the 23rd and 35th minutes, but PSV's task was made even easier in the 64th minute when Nwofor Uche was sent off.
The extra man helped PSV further dictate play as the visitors exploded for four more goals in the span of 11 minutes.
Locadia nabbed his first of the match in the 75th minute while Mertens completed his hat trick four minutes later. Locadia finished the rout with goals in the 82nd and 86th minutes, lifting PSV to 15 points on the season with a second consecutive win.
Venlo is still without a win thus far, sitting bottom of the Eredivisie on three points.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Michael de Leeuw bagged a hat trick to help Groningen claim a dramatic 3-2 win over Roda, Bart van Hintum scored the lone goal in Zwolle's 1-0 defeat of Willem II and AZ Alkmaar played to a thrilling 3-3 draw with RKC Waalwijk at the AFAS Stadion.
