Austria's Jurgen Melzer captured the $1.155 million Regions Morgan Keegan Championship on Sunday after knocking off his third straight seeded opponent.

Melzer battled back in the second set for a 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) win over No. 4 seed Milos Raonic of Canada, earning his fourth career title.

The 30-year-old Melzer withstood 22 aces from Raonic, 21, and saved four of the five break points he faced in the first-ever meeting between the players.

Melzer put together three big wins for his first title this season, upsetting top-seeded American John Isner in the quarterfinals and topping third-seeded Czech Radek Stepanek in the semis.

It took 97 minutes to beat the red-hot Raonic, who entered Sunday's match with a 15-1 record this season, including two titles. Raonic lost the Memphis final for the second straight year after falling to Andy Roddick in 2011.

Melzer earned $277,915 for the victory and Raonic collected $125,300.
