McGuigan wins SA Match Play Championship

Centurion, South Africa – Doug McGuigan defeated Jaco Ahlers, 1-up, on Sunday to win the South African Match Play Championship.

McGuigan, who moved to seventh place on the Sunshine Tour's Order of Merit with the victory, trailed Ahlers on Sunday before rolling home a birdie putt on No. 12 to pull even.

Another birdie on the 16th allowed McGuigan to go 1-up -- an advantage he wouldn't relinquish.

Merrick Bremner downed PH McIntyre, 6&5, in the match for third at Zwartkop Country Club.
