McElhinney stops 34 shots, Blue Jackets score 4 goals in 3rd period to beat Senators 4-1

Curtis McElhinney stopped 34 shots and the Columbus Blue Jackets scored four goals in the third period to beat the Ottawa Senators 4-1 on Saturday night.

Cam Atkinson, Nick Foligno, Scott Hartnell and Mark Letestu had the goals to help the Blue Jackets win for the second time in two nights.

Erik Condra had the only goal for the Senators, also in the third period. Robin Lehner stopped 29 shots as Ottawa lost its third straight.

After two scoreless periods, Atkinson put Columbus ahead at 4:13 of the third as he converted his own rebound. Foligno made it 2-0 when he scored on a backhander through Lehner's legs at 8:51.

After Condra got Ottawa on the scoreboard less than 2 minutes later, Hartnell had an empty-netter with 1:16 remaining to restore Columbus' two-goal lead. Letestu sealed the win with 13 seconds left.
