Foxboro, MA – The New England Patriots added former Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels as an offensive assistant for the remainder of the 2011 season.
McDaniels was the offensive coordinator for the Rams this past season, but jumped at the chance to rejoin the Patriots' organization with Bill O'Brien set to leave for Penn State after New England's playoff run.
O'Brien will serve as offensive coordinator for as long as the Patriots stay alive in the postseason, which oddly enough begins with a date against McDaniels' former employer -- the Denver Broncos.
McDaniels was the offensive coordinator in New England for three seasons before leaving to become head coach of the Broncos. He didn't last two seasons, getting fired during the 2010 campaign after compiling an 11-17 record.
