Peoria, AZ – The San Diego Padres announced on Monday that outfielder Cameron Maybin will miss 2-3 months after an MRI revealed a ruptured left biceps tendon.
Maybin landed awkwardly on his left arm on Sunday while attempting a diving catch in a Cactus League game and an MRI on Monday revealed the rupture.
The 26-year-old appeared in just 14 games last season with the Padres due to wrist and knee issues, hitting .157 with one home run and five RBI in 57 plate appearances.
Over parts of seven big league seasons with the Tigers, Marlins and Padres, Maybin has hit .248 with 31 home runs, 69 doubles and 135 RBI with 89 stolen bases in 466 games.
