The Dallas Mavericks waived center Eddy Curry and signed free-agent center Troy Murphy on Friday.

Curry, who was acquired by the Mavs as a free agent last week, averaged 4.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in the first two games this season. He played in 14 contests for Miami last year.

Murphy will join his sixth NBA team. The 32-year-old played in 59 games for the Los Angeles Lakers last season and averaged 3.2 points and 3.2 rebounds.
