As a parting gift to Maryland, the Atlantic Coast Conference didn't schedule the Terrapins to face North Carolina or Duke at home.

So the first sellout of the season at Comcast Center on Monday night will be for a game against ACC newcomer Syracuse, a matchup that lost a bit of its luster after the previously unbeaten Orange lost two straight last week.

Terps forward Jake Layman acknowledged Sunday that the game would have been far more intriguing if Syracuse was still undefeated.

Layman said, "Yeah, but there's still a lot of hype around the game. It's still huge for us."

Maryland is 15-12 overall and 7-7 in league play during its final season in the ACC before leaving for the Big Ten.
