Maryland-Eastern Shore tops FAMU 86-81 in OT
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Hillary Haley scored 20 points as Maryland-Eastern Shore defeated Florida A&M 86-81 in overtime on Saturday.
Kevin White added 16 points as the Hawks (4-12, 1-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) shot 53 percent from the field (35 of 66), were perfect from the free-throw line (11 of 11) and ended a four-game losing streak.
Avery Moore scored 26 points and Amin Stevens added 22 with 12 rebounds for FAMU (5-11, 0-4), which lost its sixth in a row.
The Rattlers' 3-point shooting kept them close, but free-throw shooting hurt them. Stevens made 10 of 12 free throws for FAMU, but his teammates went 8 of 20 and the team was 18 of 32 overall.
Moore made 8 of 15 from 3-point range and FAMU was 9 of 19 overall.
Tyler Hines had 11 points and eight rebounds for the Hawks. Dishawn Bradshaw added 10 points, including five points during a decisive 10-0 spurt in overtime.
