Marseille defender Souleymane Diawara is set to miss the remainder of the season after he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on Saturday.

Diawara sustained the injury in the first half of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Nice, which extended the club's winless streak to eight games in all competitions.

Marseille has dropped to ninth in Ligue 1 and will face Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old Diawara has started 23 games in the league for Marseille this season, scoring one goal.
