The Florida Marlins placed pitcher Brian Sanches day disabled list Wednesday with a strained right elbow and day DL.

Sanches is 4-1 with a 3.38 earned run average in 36 games this season, including two starts. The move is retroactive to August 10, one day after the 33-year-old right-hander threw 1 1/3 innings against Atlanta.

Webb, who had been on the DL for more than a month with right shoulder inflammation, hasn't pitched since June 26. The 25-year-old righty is 1-4 with a 3.67 ERA in 35 appearances this season.
