Florence, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Chelsea winger Marko Marin will spend the upcoming season on loan at Fiorentina, it was announced on Monday.
Marin joined Chelsea prior to the 2012-13 season from Werder Bremen in a deal worth around $17 million.
However, he struggled to find a way into the team under managers Roberto Di Matteo and Rafael Benitez in his first season, and spent last year on loan with Sevilla in La Liga, where he assisted on seven goals in 30 appearances.
The 25-year-old has earned 16 caps for Germany's national team, and he joins a Fiorentina side that finished fourth in Serie A last season, just one place from a spot in the Champions League.
