Mainz loses Svensson to knee injury

Mainz, Germany – Mainz defender Bo Svensson could be facing 0 defeat to Monchengladbach over the weekend.

Svensson suffered the injury following a tackle with Mike Hanke, and the club has confirmed that an MRI revealed ligament damage to the left knee of the 32- year-old.

Mainz has yet to announce that surgery will be required but it is expected the Dane will be out for several months.

Svensson has appeared in nine Bundesliga matches this season for Mainz, which enters the winter break in 14th place, two points above the bottom three.
