Manchester, England – Federico Macheda is likely to miss the rest of the season after he returned to Manchester United for treatment on an ankle injury he picked up while on loan at QPR.
The 20-year-old moved to London on loan in January, but with QPR signing fellow strikers Bobby Zamora and Djibril Cisse before the close of the transfer window, Macheda slipped down the pecking order.
The Italian made six appearances in all competitions for QPR, but his last came in early February as a substitute against Aston Villa.
