Lyon takes over first, sends Marseille to bottom

Bafetimbi Gomis scored his fourth goal of the 0 win Sunday.

Gomis opened the scoring after 17 minutes and Bastos doubled the lead on the half-hour mark at the Stade de Gerland, as Lyon emerged from the sixth week of the season as the lone unbeaten in France's top division.

Lyon has four wins and two draws, and sits atop the league with a one-point cushion over Montpellier and Toulouse.

Marseille remained among the three winless squads in France, as it has three points from three draws this season. Marseille is last in the standings, tied on points with Nancy, which also has three draws.

Evian 2, PSG 2

Annecy, France - Javier Pastore and Mathieu Bodmer scored as PSG rallied from an early two-goal deficit to draw Evian, 2-2, on Sunday at the Parc des Sports in France's Ligue 1.

Jerome Leroy opened the scoring in the 14th and Yannick Sagbo scored a penalty in the 19th as Evian jumped out to a fast lead, but Pastore pulled a goal back in the 42nd and Bodmer added the tying goal in the 79th.

PSG extended its unbeaten streak to five matches, while promoted Evian posted its fifth result - one win and four draws - through six weeks.

Rennes 1, Nancy 1

Rennes, France - Andre Luiz converted a penalty kick late in the second half as Nancy tied Rennes, 1-1, on Sunday at the Stade de la Route de Lorient for its third draw this season in France's Ligue 1.

Victor Montano netted the opener for Rennes in the 18th minute and the cushion held until Luiz scored from the spot with 11 minutes remaining. Rennes has two draws and three wins against just one loss, while Nancy also has three losses.
