Annecy, France – Bakari Kone, Jimmy Briand and Alexandre Lacazette scored as Lyon overcame an early deficit to down Evian, 3-1, on Thursday at the Parc des Sports in Ligue 1.
Yannick Sagbo scored his 10th goal this season in the 16th minute as Evian was able to go in front early, but Kone tied the fixture in the 22nd, Briand added the game-winner in the 68th and Lacazette capped the win from the spot.
Lyon won for the fourth time in its last four matches, and moved six points clear of Rennes and St. Etienne for third place with just two matches to go this season to all but lock up a Europa League berth.
With an edge in goal differential as well, Lyon could still lose its final two games and secure a Europa League spot with a fourth-place finish. Evian stayed ninth after its first loss in five games.
