Irving, TX – The LSU Tigers sit atop the first BCS standings, which were released Sunday after seven weeks of action.
LSU, which topped the AP poll this week, edged fellow SEC member Alabama and the Big 12's Oklahoma and Oklahoma State for the top spot.
The BCS system, in place since 1998, is computed by averaging the percentage totals of the Harris Interactive poll, USA Today poll and computer rankings.
