New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Guards Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors and James Harden of the Houston Rockets were named Monday as the NBA Players of the Month for December.

Lowry earned the Eastern Conference award after averaging 22.3 points, 8.9 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals over 15 games while helping the Atlantic Division-leading Raptors go 11-4 during December.

Chris Bosh in January 2007 was the only other Raptor ever to be named Player of the Month.

Harden averaged an NBA-high 30.6 points in 14 games along with 7.1 assists and 6.0 rebounds to earn the Western Conference award and help Houston go 9-5. He was named the conference's player of the week twice during the month.
