Joey Logano barely made the start of the Sprint Cup race in Texas after prerace inspections turned up problems with the rear of his car and Penske teammate Brad Keselowski's ride.

Logano's No. 22 Ford was bumped to the back of the field Saturday night for being late to the starting grid. He reached the grid just before the other drivers rolled off, but stayed on pit road for the first warm-up lap.

NASCAR said it had confiscated parts from both teams and would send them to North Carolina for further inspection next week.

Keselowski, the defending Sprint Cup champion, made it to pit road in plenty of time and started 16th in the No. 2 Ford on the 1½-mile, high-banked oval track.
