Hong Kong (SportsNetwork.com) - Sabine Lisicki beat Karolina Pliskova in straight sets Sunday to win the inaugural Hong Kong Open.
The top-seeded Lisicki fired seven aces in a 7-5, 6-3 win that took 78 minutes and gave the German her fourth career singles title and first since 2011.
She moved to 3-0 lifetime against Pliskova, who fell to 0-3 in title matches this season.
Lisicki, who turns 25 on Sept. 22, collected $43,000 for the victory and the third-seeded Pliskova, 22, earned $21,400.
It was the first time Lisiski played for a title since losing to Marion Bartoli in the 2013 Wimbledon final.
