Lions TE Eric Ebron hurts lower right leg during practice

DETROIT (AP) Lions' tight end Eric Ebron has been carted off the field after appearing to injure his lower right leg.

Ebron pounded the turf Saturday at Ford Field in Detroit with his right fist as he was evaluated by the team's medical personnel.

He was hurt on a play during the team's mock game.

Lions General Manager Bob Quinn says injuries happen in football. Quinn also insisted that Ebron's injury didn't take away from the public event.
