Allen Park, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Lions announced on Wednesday that they have placed wide receiver Ryan Broyles on season-ending injured reserve.

Broyles ruptured his Achilles in Sunday's 31-30 comeback win over the Dallas Cowboys.

It is the third straight year that Broyles has gone down with a season- ending injury. The first two he suffered were torn ACLs, one in each knee. Broyles tore the ACL in his left knee during his senior season at Oklahoma and the ACL in his right knee last year as a rookie with Detroit.

In 16 games played over the past two years, he has caught 30 passes for 395 yards and two touchdowns.

The team also activated running back Montell Owens from short-term injured reserve.
