Shenzhen, China (SportsNetwork.com) - Alexander Levy closed with a 3-under 69 on Sunday and cruised to victory at the China Open.
Levy finished his first European Tour victory at 19-under-par 269, which left him four strokes clear of the field.
Tommy Fleetwood posted a 4-under 68 to grab second place at minus-15. Alvaro Quiros managed an even-par 72 on Sunday and ended alone in third at 13-under 275 at Genzon Golf Club.
Francesco Molinari carded a 5-under 67 to rally for fourth place. He finished at minus-12.
Anders Hansen fired a 9-under 63, the low round of the day, to end alongside world No. 3 Henrik Stenson (65) and Ian Poulter (67) in fifth at 11-under 277.
Levy played a steady front nine with eight pars and a tap-in birdie on the par-4 sixth. Around the turn, he moved to 19-under with birdies at the 11th and 13th.
The Frenchman faltered to a double bogey at No. 15, dropping his lead to two strokes over Fleetwood.
"I didn't feel pressure. It was a difficult putt, difficult pin position, my ball was in the divot. It was a difficult shot, I made double bogey, but I knew I was playing well and I was only thinking about my game," said Levy.
Levy closed the victory in style with back-to-back birdies at 17 and 18.
"I hit one of my best shots on 17. I didn't feel pressure on the golf course because I'm confident," said Levy. "I just played my golf and focused on the target. I saw Tommy made a birdie on the 17th, but I like the pressure."
Fleetwood flew within two of the lead early as he birdied the first three holes. After five pars in a row, he birdied the ninth to remain two back.
He had birdied the 13th the first three days, but in the final round he drove into a hazard and walked off with a bogey, which put him five back after Levy birdied 11 and 13.
Fleetwood got that shot right back with a 30-foot birdie putt at the 14th. He traded a birdie at 17 for a bogey at the last.
Quiros had four birdies and two bogeys through 17 holes and was tied for second place. However, he closed with a double bogey at the last to fall four back.
NOTES: Levy earned 389,151 euros for the victory ... In 20 stagings of this event, Levy became the 20th different winner ... Levy's best previous result on tour was a third-place finish at the 2013 BMW International ... He is the sixth first-time winner this season ... Danny Willett had a hole-in-one on the par-3 12th ... Brett Rumford, last year's winner, shot 74 for the second straight round and ended in 63rd at plus-3, while PGA Championship winner Jason Dufner stumbled to a 75 and finished in a share of 54th at even-par 288 ... The European Tour heads to Singapore next week for The Championship at Laguna National, where Rumford won last year.
