Dortmund, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Karim Bellarabi scored the fastest goal in Bundesliga history before setting up a late goal for Stefan Kiessling as Bayer Leverkusen secured a 2-0 win at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Bellarabi netted his goal just nine seconds into the match and he set up a late insurance tally for Kiessling as Leverkusen overcame a flat Dortmund side which is already three points back of defending champions Bayern Munich after just one match.
Leverkusen didn't waste much time in taking the lead as the visitors took the kick off straight down the field and Bellarabi was able to reach a pass from Hakan Calhanoglu at full stretch to redirect it past goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak.
Dortmund struggled to get its new-look attacking trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Ciro Immobile going, and Leverkusen was able to sit back and defend with little trouble.
It wasn't until late in the second half that the hosts threatened Bayer goalkeeper Bernd Leno as he was first called upon to deny a close-range header from Ciro Immobile before keeping out a shot from Aubameyang.
Bellarabi then helped put the result away when he sent Kiessling through on goal, allowing the forward to hammer his shot into the upper right corner of the net.
Hannover came from a goal down in the second half to edge Schalke, 2-1, as Edgar Prib and Joselu scored three minutes apart for Hannover.
A goal in the 15th minute from Haris Seferovic was enough to lift Eintracht to a 1-0 home victory against Freiburg, Koln and Hamburg battled to a 0-0 draw, Adam Szalai and Tarik Elyounoussi scored in the first half to help Hoffenheim to a 2-0 win over Augsburg while Hertha Berlin took a 2-0 lead against Werder Bremen through a pair of goals from Julian Schieber, but gave away two in the second half to Bremen and had to settle for a 2-2 draw.
