LB Reed still at least another week from Falcons' debut

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) Coach Dan Quinn says it will be at least another week before linebacker Brooks Reed debuts with the Atlanta Falcons.

Reed was the team's top acquisition in free agency, signing a five-year contract guaranteeing $9 million, but a groin injury has sidelined him since the third preseason game.

He practiced Friday for the second straight day in a limited capacity.

The Falcons (2-0) also will be without starting running back Tevin Coleman (ribs) and return specialist Devin Hester (toe), when they visit Dallas (2-0) on Sunday.

Reed underwent a third surgery on his groin earlier this month. Quinn hopes Reed returns for next week's home game against Houston, his former team, but added that the Falcons won't rush his return.
