LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska linebacker David Santos says he isn't worried about team chemistry after he and other defensive players were involved in a fight at a house party this summer.
Santos showed up for a preseason media availability Friday with a knot and scar on his forehead, the result of getting hit by a bottle during a skirmish in late June. Santos said he required a couple stitches.
Defensive end Ernest Suttles was ticketed on suspicion of misdemeanor assault and kicked off the team. Linebacker Thomas Brown also was dismissed.
Santos, who played in 13 games as a freshman last season, said "silly events" led up to the altercation and that he and his teammates have moved on.
The Cornhuskers open practice Monday.
