Mexico City, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - America maintained its four-point lead atop Liga MX as Miguel Layun scored four times to lead his side to a 4-1 win over Santos.

Layun found the net for the first time shortly before the break when he scored from close range following a corner kick, while he doubled his total in the 54th when Santos goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez was caught off his line, allowing Layun to score on a volley from 40 yards.

Michael Arroyo set up Layun in the 60th minute to help him complete his hat trick before Carlos Izquierdoz pulled a goal back for Santos 20 minutes from time.

America's three-goal advantage was restored by Layun's fourth goal in the closing minutes, leaving the club four points clear of Monterrey, which has a game in hand.

Monterrey jumped into second place with a 2-1 win over Atlas thanks to a first-half brace from Lucas Silva, who scored both of his goals in the span of 26 minutes.

Queretaro and Toluca played to a 1-1 draw as a 14th-minute goal from Pablo Velazquez was canceled out in first-half stoppage time by Queretaro's Camilo Sanvezzo.

Veracruz edged Tijuana, 1-0, behind Daniel Villalva's 23rd-minute goal, Mariano Pavone's first-half tally was enough to lead Cruz Azul to a 1-0 victory over Leon, Edgar Lugo and Juninho scored in the second half to propel Tigres to a 3-2 win over Pachuca, Morelia downed Leones Negros, 2-1, Puebla and Guadalajara played out a 0-0 draw, and Jaguares rallied for a 2-2 draw at UNAM with goals from Isaac Gabriel Diaz and Julio Nava in the final 10 minutes.
