El Segundo, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Farmar is expected to miss a minimum of four weeks with a tear of his left hamstring.
Farmar, who missed 10 games in December with a similar hamstring tear in the same leg, was hurt again in Tuesday's 94-79 loss against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Lakers said the latest tear is in a different location than the first.
This comes as a major blow to a backcourt that already lacks depth with injuries to guards Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Xavier Henry and Steve Blake.
Farmar is averaging 8.7 points, 4.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 22 games this season.
Kendall Marshall will assume the starting point guard duties until some of the impaired Lakers can make it back to full health.
