Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace is out indefinitely with a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni told reporters at shootaround on Wednesday that he wasn't sure if World Peace will be ready for the start of the playoffs next month. The Lakers are in eighth place in the West, just a game ahead of Utah and Dallas for the final playoff spot.

World Peace has been one of the most durable players for the Lakers, who have suffered a rash of injuries this season. He is averaging 12.8 points and 5.1 rebounds.

D'Antoni says Jodie Meeks will start on Wednesday night against Minnesota in World Peace's place. That means Kobe Bryant will be the small forward.
