Linz, Austria – Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova claimed the 4, 1 victory over seventh-seeded Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova.
Kvitova, the top seed and 2009 Linz runner-up, broke her opponent's serve six times and won 60 percent of her service points.
The 21-year-old Czech had struggled since her triumph at the All England Club. She was ousted in the third round of each of her two U.S. Open tuneups before a first-round loss at Flushing Meadows. Following a semifinal appearance in Tokyo, she lost her first match at the China Open last week before rebounding by capturing her fifth crown of 2011. Only world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki (six) has won more titles this year.
Cibulkova, 22, fell to 0-3 in championship matches for her career. She played in her first final since 2008.
Kvitova has won all four lifetime meetings with Cibulkova.
