If you thought that Vlade Divac was already the general manager of the Sacramento Kings, you're hardly alone. A search for "Vlade Divac general manager" returns over 23,000 results. But until Monday, Divac was simply the leading basketball voice in owner Vivek Ranadive's ear. And his official title with the team was Vice President of Basketball and Franchise Operations.
Now, the Kings have officially promoted Divac to Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager, according to a release from the team.
Another familiar name will officially join Divac in the front office, as the Kings also announced Peja Stojakovic's role as Director of Player Personnel and Development.
Along with the two former NBA players, Mike Bratz was named assistant GM, and Roland Beech was officially announced as V.P. of basketball strategy and data science.
