Mike Kelley has been named the new crew chief for Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and the No. 6 CitiFinancial Ford team.

Kelley, who started the season on top of the No. 60 pitbox before Drew Blickensderfer's reassignment, replaces Ben Leslie. Kelley most recently served as competition director for Roush Fenway Racing's Nationwide Series program.

Given Stenhouse's slow start to the season, the change doesn't come as a surprise. Although Stenhouse scored a season-high ninth Friday night at Phoenix, the rookie's best prior performance was 25th at Bristol last month. He is currently 28th in the point standings.

Kelley took over as Carl Edwards' crew chief last season in the NNS. At the time of Kelley's move on Feb. 23, Roush referred to him as "a fierce competitor and a very loyal employee. Kelley also served as the car chief for the No. 97 Ford and Kurt Busch when the team won the title in 2004.
