Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Case Keenum will start at quarterback Sunday for the Houston Texans against the Indianapolis Colts.
Head coach Gary Kubiak made the announcement Monday, as the team begins preparation following a bye week.
Keenum played well in his first NFL start, a 17-16 loss on Oct. 20 at Kansas City. Matt Schaub was inactive for the game after injuring his right ankle a week earlier against St. Louis.
"Matt's health is fine. It's a decision based on what I saw take place last week with Case," Kubiak said about his quarterback decision.
Schaub was struggling mightily prior to the injury, throwing a pick-six in four consecutive games heading into the contest against the Rams.
Keenum, a product of the University of Houston, threw for 271 yards and a touchdown on 15-of-25 passing in the narrow loss to the unbeaten Chiefs.
