Kalitta Motorsports' Doug Kalitta and Del Worsham swept the No. 1 qualifying positions in the nitro categories at their home track Saturday in the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Nationals.

Worsham's track-record Funny Car run of 3.875 seconds at 328.70 mph from Friday held up Saturday. Worsham's Toyota sustained minor damage when the parachutes failed to deploy in the final qualifying session and he went through the sand trap at the end of the track.

"The car made a great run but we came in with a new Toyota DHL Camry body on our car," Worsham said. "We had a malfunction in the routing of the wiring of the cables from the levers to the parachutes and they failed. I swatted for them twice and when they didn't deploy it was all I could do to get it stopped. Luckily the damage was minimal for what it could have been."

In Top Fuel, Kalitta retained the No. 1 qualifying position with the track time record of 3.719 at 327.51 on Friday. He has four victories this year and leads the season standings.

Kalitta Motorsports is based in nearby Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Greg Anderson topped the Pro Stock lineup, and Eddie Krawiec was the fastest in Pro Stock Motorcycle.

Anderson powered his Chevy Camaro to a 6.565 at 211.26 on Friday. Points leader Krawiec had a 6.822 at 195.31 on a Harley-Davidson, also Friday.
