HOUSTON (AP) Johnathan Bowen threw three touchdown passes and ran for three more scores to help Texas Southern beat NAIA school Bacone College 63-0 on Friday night.
Bowen was 8 of 11 for 163 yards, and ran for 99 yards on 12 carries. Derrick Griffin had two catches for 93 yards and a touchdown for Texas Southern (1-1).
Bowen had touchdown runs of 10, 8 and 13 yards. He connected with Griffin for a 73-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Bowen added a 24-yard touchdown pass to Tracy Johnson, and a 9-yard scoring strike to Marc Edwards with 5 seconds left in the first half to give the Tigers a 35-0 lead.
Trey Steward threw for 113 yards and ran for 22 yards for Bacone.
