Mexico City, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Raul Jimenez and Luis Rey scored three minutes apart in the second half at the Azteca on Saturday to lead Club America to a 2-0 defeat of Chivas de Guadalajara.

The match was scoreless until the 69th minute when Jimenez broke through for his seventh goal of the campaign.

America doubled its advantage before Chivas had time to regroup as Rey provided the insurance goal in the 72nd minute.

The win sees America retain its position at the top of the Apertura table as its fourth straight league win brings the club to 31 points.

Chivas, still searching for its second win of the season, remains second from bottom on eight points.

Leon kept pace with America at the top of the table as it earned a 3-1 victory over Puebla on Saturday. Rafa Marquez, who converted a penalty kick in the 17th minute to give Leon the lead, was sent off in the 28th minute, but goals from Luis Montes and Mauro Boselli helped maintain Leon's six-point deficit behind America.

Toluca claimed a third straight league win on Saturday thanks to a 2-1 victory at Tigres. Wilson Mathias and Pablo Velazquez produced the goals for the visitors, who stay eight points back of first-place America.

Also on Saturday, Cruz Azul claimed a 2-1 win at Atlas, Veracruz had two players sent off but still managed a point from a 1-1 draw at Pachuca, and Alberto Garcia grabbed the game-winner in Atlante's 2-1 win over Monterrey.

On Friday, Fidel Martinez Tenorio submitted the lone goal in Tijuana's 1-0 defeat of Queretaro and Morelia earned a 2-1 win over Chiapas, while Sunday's lone match saw Santos claim three points from a 1-0 defeat of UNAM behind Oribe Peralta Morones' 63rd-minute strike.
