CORTLAND, N.Y. – The New York Jets have suspended training camp practice because of severe storms.
There was no immediate word Sunday if the team would resume practice later in the day. Shortly after the start of practice — scheduled to be the first in full pads — drenching rains and lightning swept through the area in Cortland, N.Y. The Jets suspended practice and fans were told to leave.
The Jets don't have an indoor facility at SUNY Cortland to hold a full practice. However, they can play indoors at their home facility in Florham Park, N.J.
The wet weather comes on the one-year anniversary of an image from last season's camp: Tim Tebow's post-practice shirtless jog through the rain.
