Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault has a significant lower-body injury that will likely sideline him for the rest of the regular season, coach Paul Maurice said Wednesday.

Perreault, who was placed on injured reserve, got hurt in a 5-4 shootout win against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday. He has 18 goals and 18 assists in 56 games this season.

Forward Drew Stafford, who sustained an upper-body injury against the Oilers, is day-to-day, Maurice said. Stafford has one goal in three games since being acquired from the Buffalo Sabres as part of the Evander Kane trade.

Dustin Byfuglien will move back up to forward until Stafford is able to return, according to Maurice.

Winnipeg recalled forward Carl Klingberg from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League.
