BOSTON – Charles Jenkins scored 20 points and had seven assists as Hofstra remained unbeaten in Colonial Athletic Association play with a 76-67 victory over Northeastern on Saturday.
Mike Moore added 16 points for the Pride (10-5, 4-0), including 4 of 5 from 3-point range. Greg Washington had 14 points, David Imes 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Brad Kelleher 11 points.
Hofstra was ahead for all but 3:21 but its lead never got above 10 points until the final 4 minutes. A three-point play with 3:57 left by Jenkins, the nation's fourth-leading scorer, made it 66-56 and Kelleher sank two free throws at the 3:12 mark to make it 68-56.
Chaisson Allen scored 22 points to lead the Huskies (4-11, 0-4). Twenty of his points came in the second half, including five during an 11-5 run that cut Hofstra's lead to 51-47 with 11:46 remaining.
Jonathan Lee added 14 points for the Huskies.
