Jeff Fisher on Todd Gurley: 'When he's ready, he's going to play'

Nobody knows when Todd Gurley will make his long-awaited return.

Except Gurley himself.

Despite the Rams' obvious struggles in the run game - ranked 26th in rushing yards per game - head coach Jeff Fisher was adamant that the team would not rush Gurley back.

"Todd's going to play when he's ready to play," Fisher said, via the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "It's a non-factor. I've been saying this since he got here: When he's ready, he's going to play, regardless of what's happening around him. But he is getting closer."

Whether that is in Week 3 or Week 4, or even further down the road remains to be seen.

But the Rams sure could use a boost in the backfield from someone they view as a potential franchise running back.
