J.B. Holmes birdied all but one of the par 5s at Torrey Pines for a 4-under 68 and joined Harris English at the top of a crowded leaderboard Saturday in the Farmers Insurance Open.

English led by as many as three shots early until he ended his streak of 39 holes at par or better with a double bogey on No. 4. He dropped another shot on the 16th with a poor chip and shot 73.

They were at 9-under 207 with a host of contenders behind them.

Jimmy Walker, playing for the first time since his nine-shot win in the Sony Open, had a 70 and was among five players who were one shot behind. Humana Challenge winner Bill Haas, Jason Day and three others were two shots behind.
